Just 24 hours after meeting at CottonFest in Johannesburg, Chipego and Blaq found themselves in a late-night session, turning a draft beat into something special. Blaq, from Cape Town, brought the instrumental, and Chipego, from Johannesburg, instantly connected with it. In a burst of creativity, she crafted the melody and lyrics, bringing the track to life. With Mark Fosnæs facilitating, the session was a seamless blend of artistry and technical precision, with the rest of us there to witness the magic unfold. My Love became a testament to how music creates profound connections—even between artists who had just met.

At AmaGroove New Ground, the creative journey continued as ten artists from the inaugural songwriting camp were joined by four new talents from Durban.
